CRANE TO RECEIVE LEGEND OF THE INDUSTRY AWARD AT STATE INSTALLATION

Andrew Crane of A-Crane Construction, Chicopee, has been identified as the HBRA-WM recipient of the Legend of the Industry Award.  This prestigious award will be presented to Mr. Crane by the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts at their Annual Installation Dinner on June 15th at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.   

Andrew is owner of A-Crane Construction Company.  He has been the Chairman of the “Original” Western Massachusetts Home Show and presently serves on its committee.  Andrew is a very active member serving on many committees such as the Building Industry Expo, Clambake, Nominating, Membership, Scholarship, Christmas Dinner Dance and Long Range Planning Committees.  He was the association’s President in 1993.  He also served on the association’s Builders Trade 04 Committee. It is relatively safe to say that Andy has basically served on most of the committees of the association at one time or another. Andrew has been a state director and national director.  He served as the project manager for the construction of the association’s headquarters on Cadwell Drive.

Andrew is the top membership recruiter of our association having earned several local, state and national membership awards.  He has been a repeat winner of the HBRAWM’s yearly membership contest for his outstanding recruitment efforts.  His community participation has included the Boy Scouts, Make a Wish Foundation, Knights of Columbus and the Chicopee Comprehensive High School Vocational Advisory Board. 

Mr. Crane has also been recognized for his industry involvement on a local, state and national level having won numerous awards.  In 1999, he was bestowed the highest honor from the state when he was named the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts Builder of the Year.  In 2000, he earned the Edward R. Pedersen Distinguished Service Award which is awarded to a local member that has shown exemplary service to the association in a calendar year.  In 2006, Mr. Crane received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed by our local association at the Annual Holiday Dinner Dance because he epitomized the essence of “dedication and service” to the association and the industry.  He served as the President of the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts in 2007.

In other evening business, Walter Tomala, Jr. of TNT General Contracting will be installed as the new President of the HBA of Massachusetts and Michael McDowell of the Building Inspector of America will be sworn in as Senior Vice President of the state association.

A hearty congratulation goes out to Andrew for receiving this well deserved honor of being selected as the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Western Massachusetts’ Legend of the Industry recipient.  Be sure make your calendar for this date to honor Andrew for his accomplishment.
